What EaseKid Dict is

EaseKid Dict is a dictionary for children learning to read and write. A child can type a word they have seen and hear what it means, or say a word and see how it is spelled.

It is free

Every part of the app is free. There is no subscription, no in-app purchase, and no advertising. Nothing is withheld pending payment.

What we ask of you

Use the app as intended, and do not attempt to disrupt or overload the service that supplies word meanings. The app is meant for a child looking up words, and the service is sized for that.

What the app can and cannot do

Word meanings come from a curated word list and, for words outside it, from a language model. Meanings are written for a young child and are simplified on purpose. They may occasionally be incomplete or wrong, so the app is a learning aid rather than a reference, and it is not a substitute for a teacher or a full dictionary.

Availability

The offline word list works without a network. The service that defines less common words may be unavailable at times; when it is, the app still shows and pronounces the word.

Changes

These terms may change as the app does. The date above says when they were last revised.
